2027 Commercial Grounds Maintenance Contracts — Sign Early, Start First

Quick answer: Grounds contracts for condo associations, multi-family and commercial properties in Somerville, Medford, Cambridge and Boston start April 1, 2027. Properties signed by March 1, 2027 get a winter site walk, numbers in time for the board's budget, a first-round spring cleanup and 2027 pricing locked for the season. We take on a select number of new properties each year.

Freshly planted entry bed and paver courtyard at a commercial building

Spring cleanup season in Greater Boston is a race. Every association wants beds cleaned, lawns raked out and mulch down before the first warm weekend, and every crew has the same few weeks to do it. The properties that signed in February get done first. The ones still collecting bids in April wait.

A written scope and price in time for your annual meeting, with COI, W-9 and references attached.

A winter site walk

We walk the property while it's quiet, note drainage and ice problems, and plan the season before the first mow.

How the timeline works

  1. December – January. Call or send the address. We schedule a site walk and talk through what your current vendor is missing.
  2. January – February. Written proposal within 2–3 business days of the walk. We'll join a board call if it helps.
  3. By March 1. Contract signed. Spring cleanup slot confirmed; season plan and photo-report schedule set.
  4. April 1. Service starts — weekly visits, photo reports and a direct line to the owner.

What's in a grounds contract

  • Drainage fixes and hardscape repairs from the same company

Full detail and price ranges are on the grounds maintenance page. Typical ranges: Essential Grounds $650–1,200/month, Full Grounds $1,200–2,500/month, and Total Property (grounds + snow) $2,000–4,000/month billed year-round.

Questions

2027 grounds contract FAQ

When should we sign a grounds maintenance contract for 2027?

January through early March. Most associations award grounds contracts over the winter for an April 1 start, and spring cleanups are scheduled in the order contracts are signed. Signing by March 1, 2027 gets your property into our first round of spring cleanups.

How much does commercial grounds maintenance cost near Boston?

For most condo associations and multi-family properties around Somerville, Medford and Cambridge, full grounds contracts run roughly $1,200 to $2,500 per month during the April–November season, or about $100 to $300 per unit per month. Smaller properties start around $650 per month. Pricing comes from a site walk.

Can you walk the property in the winter?

Yes. We can measure turf and beds, note drainage and grading problems and photograph the property in winter, then confirm details in early spring. Snow cover sometimes means a short second look before final pricing.

Can grounds and snow be on one contract?

Yes. Our Total Property tier puts grounds in season and a seasonal snow and ice contract in winter on one agreement, one invoice and one renewal date.
